چکیده

Optoelectronic control modulates ion transport through sub-nanometer MoS2 pores An ionic conductance oscillation phenomenon is experimentally observed in nanopores Ionic Coulomb blockade may originate from binding-induced multi-ion interactions one of the phenomena revealing quantized nature charges, which crucial importance to our understanding sub-continuum nanofluidics and mechanism biological channels. Here, we report an experimental observation plausible theoretical reasoning conduction oscillations. Our experiment performed under confinement (sub-nm) with optoelectronic enabled for active tuning pore surface charges. Under this charge control, measure current at fixed voltages observe multiple peaks. analytical discussions molecular dynamics simulations further reveal that oscillations interaction entry, particularly electrostatic repulsion ions external by bound inside pore. work adds a effect paves way developing advanced machineries.

Understanding Capacitance Variation in Sub-nanometer Pores by in Situ Tuning of Interlayer Constrictions.

The contribution of subnanometer pores in carbon electrodes to the charge-storage mechanism in supercapacitors has been the subject of intense debate for over a decade. Here, we provide a model system based on graphene oxide, which employs interlayer constrictions as a model for pore sizes that can be both controllably tuned and studied in situ during supercapacitor device use. Correlating elec...

Fabrication of sub-nanometer pores on graphene membrane for ion selective transport.

The ability to sieve ions through nanopores with high throughput has significant importance in seawater desalination and other separation applications. In this study, a plasma etching process has been demonstrated to be an efficient way to produce high-density nanopores on graphene membranes with tunable size in the sub-nanometer range. Besides the pore size, the nanopore density is also contro...

Quantized ionic conductance in nanopores.

Ionic transport in nanopores is a fundamentally and technologically important problem in view of its occurrence in biological processes and its impact on novel DNA sequencing applications. Using molecular dynamics simulations we show that ion transport may exhibit strong nonlinearities as a function of the pore radius reminiscent of the conductance quantization steps as a function of the transv...

Membrane surface-charge titration probed by gramicidin A channel conductance.

We manipulate lipid bilayer surface charge and gauge its influence on gramicidin A channel conductance by two strategies: titration of the lipid charge through bulk solution pH and dilution of a charged lipid by neutral. Using diphytanoyl phosphatidylserine (PS) bilayers with CsCl aqueous solutions, we show that the effects of lipid charge titration on channel conductance are masked 1) by condu...
